Pangasius prices in the US increased by 35% compared to the beginning of the year
According to VASEP, in the top 10 popular seafood products in the US, frozen pangasius fillets with size 5-7 oz is the product with the 4th highest price increase, increasing 35% from 1.73 USD on January 12. 2021 to $2.33/pound on July 12, 2021.
Products with the highest price increase include pasteurized blue crab carcass (up 67%), frozen snow crab legs (up 63%), yellowfin tuna (up 36%).
Vietnam is the main source of pangasius for the US, accounting for nearly 90% of the country's total catfish imports in the first quarter of this year.
In the first 6 months of this year, pangasius exports to the US reached 168.7 million USD, up 57.7% over the same period last year.
